A gentle breeze blows over rolling hills and comically rendered dense forests. Trees, i.e. building material, really do abound. Can we also find some berry bushes and a pile of stones somewhere? Yes, over there. A river isn't that far away either. Good conditions for a new village center, which we also immediately place on the ground.

Now eight cute villagers are standing around on the square freshly stamped out of the ground, waiting for work. There is plenty of work to be done, after all, we want to build a bustling medieval metropolis! So it's a matter of cutting down trees, cutting stones and for the snack, in between, we let a few people diligently collect berries.

We build on this foundation. Soon foresters, farmers, millers, bakers, sheep farmers, weavers, tailors, and a few more join in, and everything scurries around.
Foundation stands out with clever combos. Foundation looks like more than just a clone. Because Foundation looks at some interesting aspects from other games and puts them together in a new way. For example, there is the aspect of organic growth or the dynamic development of streets and houses.

Foundation is currently still in early access release. Accordingly, some things are not yet running smoothly. It is constantly being worked on; there are constant improvements, for example in animations, and also new content. Some game mechanics are also being changed.

Conclusion about Foundation (Early Access)
Due to the lack of information and tooltips, it currently takes a little while to get into the game. But after two or three hours you were lively settling and had great fun watching how and where paths and houses were created and how more and more citizens livened up the streets.

All in all, Foundation offers nothing groundbreakingly new - somehow everything has been done before. But still, the overall picture fits together well.
